The Govenor of Virginia requested an independent panel of ASCE engineers determine the feasbility of a tunnel through Tysons Corner. After a 90 day deliberation, the panel not only determined the tunnel option feasible, they stated the "tunnel option would provide greater positive long-term economic and business impacts than the aerial option".
