Dr. Sauer & Partners at WTC2016

The World Tunnel Congress for 2016 will take place in San Francisco later this month, and Dr. Sauer & Partners will be present at the event.

The congress takes place in California from 22 – 28 April, and will see as many as 600 unique technical presentations and more than 200 exhibitors from around the world, including Dr. Sauer & Partners - come and visit us at Booth 1013. Four of our five Partners will be present, and look forward to meeting you, alternatively listen to one of our presentations during the programme:

One of our Partners, Christian Karner along with Tunnel Engineer, Franz Wilhelmstötter will present their work on the Confederation Line, part of Ottawa’s light rail transit. Their presentation will cover some of the design decisions made early on in the project including excavation method, unique construction sequencing and equipment selection. They will look at design and construction challenges of large caverns in very close proximity to existing buildings and varying ground conditions. Finally, an overview of achieved construction milestones and current construction progress will be discussed. Their presentation takes place on Monday 25th April at 16.10 in Room 121/122.

On Tuesday 26th April at 14.40, Petr Salak, Senior Tunnel Engineer and Project Manager at Dr. Sauer & Partners in London will also be presenting: “A comparison between monitoring solutions within SCL tunnels at Crossrail Farringdon Station” together with  Adrian StJohn from Kier Group. You will find them in Room 121/122, during the “Tunnelling Advances through Innovation II” session. Petr is also presenting during the ITACUS* Open Session about the new initiative: Young Professionals Think Deep Programme (YPTDP).

Another of our Partners and the company's Technical Director, Thomas Schwind will also speak during the Tunnel Interactions with Ground Structures sessions: “Analysis of in-tunnel deformations caused by compensation grouting in stiff, overconsolidated clay at Crossrail Farringdon Station”   (Tuesday 26th April, 16.10 Room 132)
