Dr. Sauer & Partners Shortlisted for NCE Tunnelling Awards 2016

Monday, August 15th, 2016

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists for three categories of the New Civil Engineer Tunnelling Awards 2016! We have made it onto the shortlist for the following categories for our work on projects in central London:

  • UK Tunnelling Team of the Year – Bank Station Capacity Upgrade
  • Technology Innovation of the Year and Ground Investigation and Monitoring Award - both for our Use of a 3D geological model on Crossrail’s Farringdon Station to assist with the geotechnical risk management of the SCL tunnel

Being named on the shortlist for these awards follows our win at the Ground Engineering Awards for Technical Excellence 2016 in June. We have also recently celebrated our contribution to the Bond Street Station Upgrade which won Global Tunnelling Project of the Year at the NCE Awards in 2015, and Petr Salak was named as Young Tunneller of the Year 2014. We hope that we can continue to deliver work that is recognised as award-winning, and look forward to 8th December when the results will be delivered.

New Civil Engineer Editor Mark Hansford commented: "This year’s awards finalists are at the forefront of the tunnelling industry: improving safety and driving innovation and efficiency. Our expert panel of judges had a tough time choosing the shortlist from the excellent standard of entries received, all of which demonstrate what a fantastic industry this is to work in. These are great companies delivering great projects.”

The Tunnelling Awards are back for their seventh year, and the awards ceremony will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel London, in December. The awards will showcase the very best in tunnelling expertise, and the December event provides a premier networking arena for the global tunnelling community.
