Job Description
As a full time employed Tunnel Engineer, you will be working on major projects in the North American region. You will be an integral part of the design team and will be required to carry out a number of diverse engineering tasks. The principal duties are:
The Tunnel Engineer will be responsible for the timely production of key deliverables from designs, drawings and complex analyses under guidance from our senior team members. The principal duties are:
Design and detail underground structures, including tunnels, cross passages, and caverns.
Develop design drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Perform structural modeling and analysis using various engineering software tools.
Conduct frequent site visits and support construction activities in the field as needed.
Collaborate with clients and project teams to ensure project requirements are met.
Qualifications and Experience required:
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a focus on structural and / or geotechnical design.
Demonstrable experience in the design and / or construction management of underground structures.
Strong understanding of rock / soil mechanics and concrete design.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) License is desirable but not essential..
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit 3D modeling and structural analysis.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
Proactive attitiude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
