Description
The Brucetown Road Tunnel is an existing tunnel that was originally constructed in the 1960’s in Clearbrook, Virginia. The tunnel is currently flooded and used for a water reservoir, but Dr. Sauer & Partners has been tasked with rehabilitating the tunnel for future use. The existing tunnel is approximately 40 feet wide and 60 feet tall, with over 80 feet of overburden. It needs to be widened to fit a CAT 777 for haulage between quarries.

The geology consists of limestone with calcite inclusions.
