The Drumanard Highway Tunnels are part of the Louisville - Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project. The twin, three-lane highway tunnels are constructed under the historic Drumanard Estate which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The tunnels are approximately 1,700ft in length.
The tunnels will be excavated within the near horizontal sequence of the Louisville Limestone, the Waldron Shale, and the Laurel Dolomite with near horizontally bedded rock layers with variable rock strength.
