Description
WMATA’s L-Line includes sections of fabricated steel tunnel liners located in twin separate circular tunnels totalling approximately 3,050 ft in length, located between the Pentagon and L’Enfant Plaza Metro. The work includes rehabilitating the steel-lined structure to provide redundant structural support of the existing tunnel, thereby restoring the structural integrity of the tunnel and extending its useful life for a minimum of fifty additional years.
Geology
Predominately clayey sand & sandy clay, overlain by sand & gravel. Groundwater table approximately 30 ft above tunnel crown.
