The British Tunnelling Society’s Young Member’s Conference 2019 takes place next Friday, 15th March at the ICE, One Great George Street. Dr. Sauer & Partners’ Senior Tunnel Engineer, Andreas Feiersinger will present “Design and Construction aspects of San Francisco’s Chinatown station”, showcasing our work on San Francisco’s Central Subway project.
The company performed the conceptual, preliminary and detailed design for Chinatown station, which delivered tunnelling in a very dense urban environment and included large station caverns in both rock and soft ground. Andreas’ presentation will give an overview of the project, the challenges and the approaches used.
