This week, Dr. Sauer & Partner’s Senior Tunnel Engineer and Partner, Andreas Feiersinger is in Madrid, attending, and presenting at the Madrid Metro conference ‘100 años de Metro de Madrid y su traslación internacional’.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Metro in Madrid, and the conference programme will cover a variety of topics including the most recent generation of mathematics models, current tunnel and metro station construction and excavation teams, and deformational characteristics of materials used in tunnelling. The event will also pay tribute to those who were instrumental in the first line of the Madrid Metro, a century ago!

Andreas’ will be presenting tomorrow morning (9th May) during which he will discuss the current trends of construction design in Metro infrastructure in large cities, sharing examples from London, Washington, San Francisco and Ottawa.
