With the ITA-AITES World Tunnel Congress 2024 now upon us, and running until Thursday 25th April in Shenzhen, China the theme of this year’s event is one that Dr. Sauer & Partners is extremely committed to - ‘Tunnelling for a Better Life’. The congress focusses on three elements within this: sustainability of tunnelling; energy-saving, eco-friendly, green and low-carbon; and the promotion and application of intelligent construction technology.
In support of this, on Tuesday 23rd April during the technical session around design and methodology, our MD from our Israel office, Petr Salak will deliver a presentation (sharing contributions from Franz Wilhelmstoetter - MD for our US office, and Angelos Gakis - Head of Geotoechnics) that looks at Carbon Reduction in conventional tunnelling by advanced design. He will share how the design can significantly support a reduction in carbon when it comes to the construction of a tunnel. Additionally Petr will chair technical session 9 on Wednesday from 15.50 that will cover Waterproofing and Drainage.
Engineers Zhen Ng and Solomon Ekperuoh from the Dr. Sauer & Partners London office will also attend the event - we are delighted that Dr. Sauer & Partners will be represented at this year’s event.
