The British Tunnelling Society’s Young Member’s Conference for 2023 takes place this Friday, 29th September in Fitzrovia, London and Dr. Sauer & Partners is pleased to be sponsoring.
The BTSYM Conference brings together the British industry’s young tunnelling community, providing a great opportunity for colleagues to network and learn more about what is happening right now in our industry, and Dr. Sauer & Partners is proud to be able to sponsor this important event.
In addition, Dr. Sauer & Partners’ Avantika Raj will present during the proceedings, looking at the first principles behind the face stability calculations we undertook for large diameter tunnels under shallow clay cover. The presentation will also cover the inclusion of mitigation measures such as canopy pipes and grouting granular/sandy layers above the clay which further assists with face stability. Her presentation will consider how these can be incorporated into the stability calculations.
