Laird Station Tunnel Excavation Completes for Eglinton Crosstown LRT Project

Wednesday, October 9th, 2019

After three years of tunnelling on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT project, Laird Station is the first of the three mined stations to have completed SEM tunnelling. This brings to an end the excavation of the 500m long cavern tunnels (approx. 19m in diameter, including multiple drift tunnels) and several connecting and running tunnels.

The successful collaboration between Dr. Sauer & Partners and Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTSC) does not end here, tunnelling of Avenue and Oakwood Stations is currently ongoing and will be completed in the near future.
