This month, Hussein Mohamed, Dr. Sauer & Partners’ BIM/CAD Manager in Washington celebrates his fifteen-year anniversary with the company.
Hussein joined Dr. Sauer & Partners in the USA in June 2007, with a wealth of professional experience in architectural and structural design. Hussein earned a B.Sc. Architectural Engineering Degree from the University of Khartourm, Sudan in 1992. Through the years Hussein has acquired specialized experience in tunneling and geotechnical engineering through his project work. Hussein’s areas of expertise are the design deliverables, development of construction documents and BIM models and design documents related to detailed design, preliminary design, tender design, construction and reinforcement drawings using Autodesk Auto CAD, Autodesk Revit (BIM) and Bentley MicroStation.
When Hussein joined the company, the US business of Dr. Sauer & Partners was at the time working on the preliminary design alternative for the Tysons Corner Tunnel option, with Hussein taking on the role of CAD Manager. Since then he has participated in many projects, some of the most recent ones being the Luck Stone Inter-Quarry Tunnel in Virginia, the Confederation Line in Ottawa, Gallery Place Chinatown Passageway in Washington D.C., and the Eglinton Crosstown Railway project in Toronto.
