We are very pleased to announce that Dr Sauer & Partners has been named as winners of the Technical Excellence category at the 2016 Ground Engineering Awards for our use of a 3D geological risk management approach at Farringdon Crossrail Station, along with Bam Ferrovial Kier JV (BFK) and the British Geological Survey.
We are delighted to have won such a prestigious award, particularly within this significant category which included other extremely worthy contenders and projects. It was our work at Farringdon however that was labelled “Technical excellence at its best” by one of the judges. Congratulations in particular go to Angelos Gakis, Petr Salak and Noemí García-Pérez for all of their effort, hard work and dedication in this achievement.
The deserving winners of the 2016 GE Awards were announced on 30 June at the Hilton Park Lane, London. The GE Awards brought together over 700 leaders in consultancy and contracting in the geotechnical engineering industry for an afternoon of celebration, recognition and networking.
After review by a panel of 45 expert judges, Dr. Sauer & Partners, BFK and British Geological Survey won in recognition of the work at Farringdon which according to the judges showed a great example of following the observational method, delivered significant safety benefits and also through its technical paper has provided information that is available to benefit future projects.
