Project Update News

Sunday 15th November 2020 marked the next major milestone for the project, breakthrough of Tunnel 2 was executed and with this the most difficult and challenging part of excavation for the project completed. Congratulations to all of the project team on this momentous occasion.

Laird, Avenue and Oakwood crowned winners of the Tunnelling Association of Canada's Canadian Project of the Year Award 2020.

Final excavation and support steps for tunnelling on the London Underground Bank Station Capacity Upgrade project were completed in early July 2020, just under 3.5 years after construction began in February 2017.
Congratulations to all involved parties on this significant milestone.

The highway 401 Rail Tunnel project consists of two tunnels, each 188m long with a maximum overburden of 2-5m. Dr. Sauer & Partners delivered the tunnel design for the Toronto Tunnel Partners (TTP).

Tideway is upgrading London’s sewer system to cope with the city’s growing population.  Dr. Sauer & Partners supported the Ferrovial Laing O’Rourke JV and its main designers proposing alternatives to improve the construction sequence of the six junctions between main TBM tunnel and connection tunnels.

We are delighted to announce that SEM mining and primary lining works for the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (ECLRT) at the last SEM station on the line, Avenue is now complete.

After nine weeks of project shutdown due to COVID-19, the Dr. Sauer & Partners site representation team is back at work on the Bank Station Capacity Upgrade (BSCU) project.

The National Infrastructures Committee approved the alignment of the Metro M2 Line for Tel Aviv on 20th May 2020. Dr. Sauer & Partners are delighted to join the team.>
